Heather+Ryan

Heather + Ryan

Heather and Ryan were married in a beautiful ceremony in Ottawa and had their photos taken at the Museum of Nature. I love the entire look of this wedding because it has a Canadiana feel with Ryan wearing his mounty uniform and the undeniable elegance.

For Heather’s fascinator it was important for her to have some nostalgia pulled into her look. So I had her mother scavenge through her late grandmother’s jewelry and she found her pearl necklace.  After hand sculpting and tea dying the petals used to create the flower, I added the pearls into the center of the piece.

Whooooo hoooooo!  We are delighted to announce that after 3 years in Toronto, Oh Dina! is now being produced in Halifax, Nova Scotia!  There is nothing like the fresh ocean breeze and to be surrounded by creative artisans in the East Coast!

In a nutshell, it’s good to be home!

Hello2012

by Nicole in Weddings

HAPPY 2012!!!

First off, thank you all so much for such an amazing 2011!  It was by far the most exciting year thus far. I cannot express the gratitude that I have for all of the support from the people I have worked with this past year

Here are the top 3 Oh Dina! highlights of 2011!

#1. Creating a custom piece for Meaghan Smith when she won the Juno for Best New Artist for 2011!

#2.  Having a booth at the One of a Kind Show where I met so many wonderful people and became even more inspired by the incredible talented artisans in Canada!

#3. Being able to work with the most amazing brides this year! It was so wonderful to create custom pieces for these beautiful vixens. Here is one of the many brides I worked with, Annette. I just LOVE this photo!

Lara + Jerome

Lara + Jerome

Fun wedding?! Ohhh yes!

Lara was probably the most energetic and enthusiastic bride I have ever met and her wedding to the handsome Jerome definitely reflected that! Every element of their “succulence ” themed wedding was carefully thought out from the blue grass band to the wildflowers in vintage vases. I generally don’t do this but Lara made an extra special request for me to add pizazz to her dress so for several weeks I hand sewed silk flowers and freshwater pearls to her beautiful dress. I also created a silk oversized flower adorned veil with freshwater pearls and whimsical feathers.

I added more photos than usual so enjoy them and most importantly be inspired by their gorgeous Ontario summer wedding!

I’m delighted to share the fabulous photos of Chantal and Jason’s  1920′s inspired funky wedding! I just loved the splash of magenta and being able to infuse that into her custom designed headpiece. We scattered the detachable veil with freshwater pearls and added vintage Chantilly lace to the pink fascinator to match her AWESOME David Dixon Barbie shoes!

Also, check out the feathery peacock bridesmaid’s pieces which she gave to her girls as special little gifts!

Hands down the best part about being a milliner is being able to create one of a kind custom headpieces for brides for their weddings! I love creating pieces for this wedding which infused a lot of Swarovski glitz and feathers for the bride Jessie, and bright colored headpieces for the bridesmaids. Check out these awesome photos of Jessie and Jeremy’s sparkly wedding of magenta and spring green!
